How Our Research Service Works:

We manage a business to consumer website at www.startsampling.com. This website connects consumers with new products and services by offering them product samples, promotions, and a feedback channel. Our panel base is primarily active, early adopters (~2.5 million) who are eager to 'Try Something New'. The panel is comprised of all demographic groups but concentrates on married women with children (84% female, 65% with children) – the core consumer for many products and services. StartSampling has consistently been a top website generating significant consumer traffic.

Each survey can be targeted to a specific demographic (i.e. married females), or consumers can be qualified to participate in the survey via real-time screener questions (i.e. do you purchase product x?). The run-time of each survey depends on the incidence and number of completed surveys desired. The number of questions is flexible, but we recommend that surveys be 30 questions or less to insure a positive consumer experience and less respondent fatigue.

During a research project, the results are posted in real-time to a password protected client website. Here, clients can immediately view the results of the survey. Once the survey is complete, our research staff can analyze the results of the research and deliver a complete data set in a format of your choice.

Advantages of StartSampling

Extensive skills in online panel development and management. We have experience with incentives, panel maintenance, survey fatigue issues, and panel communications. We have an in-house customer service team that is trained to communicate with consumers and keep them fresh and interested in participating. We own and manage our consumer panel, making it easy to balance panel burden and client demand; thus reducing the impact of heavy responder bias.

Extreme Targeting. Each of our surveys can be targeted based on known demographic data or can be targeted in real time through the use of screener questions. Only responses for those panelists that fit your profile will be included in your data.

Turnaround Time. Typically, StartSampling can develop and launch a client survey in a matter of hours or days. This is because all of our resources are in-house, including our panel, tools, and research staff. Clients rely on StartSampling for tight deadlines and fast response time.

Panelist Responsiveness is extremely high, without the use of email. Our members are on the StartSampling website to 'Try Something New', so taking part in research is only one of many interactions we have with our members...they are not professional survey takers. We keep members engaged in more ways than just research, so they keep coming back for more.

Full Service. StartSampling management and staff are well versed in marketing and research disciplines. We walk clients through each project from survey design and consultation to data management and manipulation. We understand clients do not have the time to micro-manage the details.
